Lochboisdale Harbour – Rates Information:

Prices charged to harbour users will be made up of the following elements as applicable:

  • Berthing Charges (pontoons)
  • Berthing alongside fee (quay)
  • Charge for Cargo landed
  • Charge for Crane hire
  • Slipway Charge
  • Boat hoist usage
  • Hard Standing Charge
  • Charge for Anchoring or Dynamic Positioning (DP) within Harbour Area
  • Wharfage shipped or landed

Vessels Berthing due to sickness or defence of the realm will not be charged.

Any ferry using the CMAL pier for the purpose of maintaining a regular ferry service to Lochboisdale may pass through the harbour area without charge.

Anchoring or maintaining DP is prohibited in the approach line of the ferry to the CMAL pier at Lochboisdale.

 

Commercial Vessels

 

VAT to be charged at the appropriate rate, qualifying vessels of 15 gross tonnes and over are VAT zero-rated.

  • Fishing Vessels

 

Resident Fishing vessels or those having more than 10 landings per year may apply for composite rates. They will be charged on an annual basis and be inclusive of berthing, landing and fuelling.

Six month and annual Composition rates will be paid in advance and are non-refundable.

Leisure Craft.

Composite charges will be available on a six monthly or annual basis. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT at 20%. All vessels using the pontoons on a long term basis must have marine liability insurance of at least £2.5 Million. Proof of insurance to be provided on application for composition rate.

Locally based Leisure Craft Not carrying goods or paying passengers.

Composite rates for boats whose owners are resident in Uist, Benbecula and Eriskay will be available on a six monthly or annual basis. Winter storage in the water is available. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT at 20%. All vessels using the pontoons on a long term basis must have marine liability insurance of at least £2. 5 Million. Proof of insurance to be provided on application for composition rate.

Local User berthing at the Gateway Pontoon in the old Harbour

 

The use of the Gateway Pontoon at the old harbour is by prior permission from the Harbour master as mooring space is limited on this pontoon. The licence of this pontoon includes the right to temporary access to the slipway and fishing pier in the new harbour for landing catches and boat launch recovery. Note the Gateway garden area must not be used for storing equipment.

Composite charges will be available on a six monthly or annual basis. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT at 20%. All vessels using the pontoons on a long term basis must have marine liability insurance of at least £3 Million. Proof of insurance to be provided on application for composition rate.

  • Slipway, Crane, Hoist and Hard Standing for maintenance Charges.

 

Crane, slipway and up to two weeks hard standing charges will be included in the composite rates for that particular vessel or otherwise charged as follows. Prices are inclusive of UK VAT at 20%

 

1 Use of Slipway per half day for vessels up to 10M (LWL) £10.00
2. Use of slipway for boats over 10M LWL) £10.00 plus £2 per extra M
3. Crane Hire to competent, certified, approved user per half day.  To become an approved user industry standard training course must be completed for this type of crane and copy of certificate held by harbour office. Only on receipt of a crane operator certificate will the pass code for the crane lock be given to the user. £25.00
4. Use of the Boat Hoist is to be pre booked with the harbour and will be charged per boat movement.

5. Use of Harbour area hard standing for maintenance per meter per day for the first two weeks. (Note two weeks is included in a composite rate contract for named vessel) £0.50

Additional waste disposal charges for Special Waste (ie contaminated waste/ waste oil)

 

As per the Lochboisdale harbour waste management plan the following charges apply:-

Note. Facilities at Lochboisdale are designed for small quantities of waste oil and contaminated waste.
