Lochboisdale is the ideal Port of entry for visitors to the islands or just to enjoy the recreational and sailing facilities. Around Lochboisdale you are able to cruise the Minch and inlets of the more sheltered east coast to Barra or hopping up to Lochmaddy or Stornoway.
For the more adventurous, the west coast offers unspoilt and deserted beaches and routes out to the Monach Isles and St Kilda.
Local hotels and cafes offer a warm welcome. The Lochboisdale Hotel provides services for sailors along with a Pick-Up Service (see www.lochboisdaleharbour.com/local-services for more details) from the harbour and the Post Office Café has home baking, gifts and souvenirs. The local shops are happy to deliver groceries to the quayside.
A day’s sail from Oban or by plane from Glasgow and Inverness, Lochboisdale harbour makes the pristine waters of the East Atlantic accessible for a weekend getaway.
